O-ringing a block involves the services of a qualified speed orientated machine shop. They will machine a grove in the head and a matching grove in the block. The ring sits in the groves and is capture creating an super strong seal. It's a great solution for high power motors with excessive cylinder pressure. The other benefit is the heads can be removed and replaced easier for inspection becasue the o-rings are reuseable and easily replaceable. I would suggest you try a Cometic head gasket before o-ringing a VG30
